Employment History
1990-1993 : Worked at Edgars (doesnt everyone?)
1993-1998 :SAA hired me as an air hostess despite my horrific Afrikaans (these were the days when you had to be tweetalig remember!). I'm sure much to the shock and horror of Mr Brink who knew all too well the extent of my linguistic handicap. Spent the next almost 6 years serving lots of beef and chicken (and seeing many great places in between). Somehow managed to get my Diploma in Travel and Tourism Marketing from Technikon SA too (in between the serving of the Klippies and Coke and intellectual demands of reciting the safety instructions).
1999- present : Executive chef, dish washer, child wrangler, arbitration and reconciliation consultant, entertainment committee, taxi driver, butler, sports coach and general pack mule (or as commonly known - mommy or mommmeeeeee!!!!).
Private life
Married Thierry Pienaar (Lynnwood Ridge Std 4 and 5, Boys High 89) in 1998. Olivia (now 9) was born in SA in 1998, we moved to the UK in March 2000. My son Keir (now 6) was born there in 2002. We moved to the US (Atlanta) in August 2003. My son Graye was born here and is now 5 months old.
Hobbies
When I grow up one day I will cultivate some suitably interesting hobbies like quilting or base jumping or something, but right now los kiddos are the main hobby. I do love reading though. Am currently obsessed with Bill Maher and Bill Bryson.
Interesting Travel
Argentina, Thailand, Brazil, lots of Europe, Dubai, Hong Kong, Australia..... etc, etc (payoff for having to clean aircraft toilets).
Regular contact with other 89'ers
Debbie Cave (now Groenewald); Jennifer Hart (now Blake); Fiona Neal (now Laubscher). A whole lot more now that I have recently succumbed to the addiction that is Facebook.
