Snap Shot - Hayley du Plessis (Nee Scott)
After school I studied at Uni Natal (PMB), doing a BA and teaching diploma. Then I went to London for about 2.5 years, and then backpacked around the world for 8 months.
Came home to SA for a few years and worked as a trade magazine editor, and later moved into educational book publishing. Completed my English Honours part-time, then went back to UK to work in publishing in Oxford and try out some law studies. Returned to our sunny shores two and a half years later, and worked in trade publishing for a while (at Penguin Books) before moving to WesBank, where I work in Internal Comms.
In August this year I married my lovely boyfriend of two years, Schalk. We live in Northcliff with our dawg, a Bull Terrier named Mosca. We’re getting our second Bull Terrier, Bear, in three weeks, so the garden will once again become a demolition zone.
Hobbies:
Compulsive reading, bargain-hunting in second-hand book and junk shops, bonsai and orchid collecting, sweating in Bikram yoga and walking the dawg.
